Reader postings
We at 4hairloss.org have come to realize that other readers are great resources for hair loss information because no one but God knows everything about hair loss. With that philosophy in mind we created the reader postings.
When a reader contacts us, with a question or helpful hair loss advice or updated information on a treatment or a new treatment, if it is something we feel will be helpful to other readers we will post it here.
So if you have information on a hair loss topic or treatment and you would like to share it with other readers on this website then fill out the form on the contact us page and if it is in line with our mission we will definitely post it. Thank you!
Treatments for women
Michelle asks: I am losing my hair, what can I do about it?
Dear Michelle,
Sorry to hear that you are losing your hair, but there are options out there for you. Two treatments that I recommend to help save the hair you have and hopefully help to get some of the lost hair back. One is laser therapy. This is using laser light on your head. It has been clinically proven to work. On our treatment page you will see a brand that we recommend, they are the pioneers of that treatment. But you can actually spend a couple of hundred more and get a laser that fits the entire top of your head and not just a small area.
The other treatment you can start on is minoxidil. You can get a generic version at Wal-Mart for about $20 for a three month supply. It is a topical treatment that has been clinically proven to work.
Hope that helps. Thank you for your question Michelle,

Where to buy Propecia?
Steve asks: I am interesting in purchasing Propecia, what do I need to do?
Dear Steve,
Propecia is one of the few hairloss treatments on the market that require a prescription from your doctor. You will need to go to your doctor for a prescription and then any pharmacy can fill it for you. You can purchase it in a 30 day supply or a 90 day supply. Most people purchase it in the 90 day supply if able to do so.

Hair loss on a budget
Umesh asks: I am 19 years old. . For the past 3 years I am losing my hair . I am currently using the hair product Ervamatin and I have been using it for the past 5 months. But it is not working; I am still losing my hair. It is getting so bad that I am going bald. I don't know what to do. I can't afford to spend much. What is a possible solution?
Dear Umesh,
The treatments that we recommend on 4hairloss.org are good treatments, but some of them can be pricey. If I only had about $70 per month to spend on hair loss I would start taking Propecia, which is about $70 per month here in the United States. This pill has been clinically proven to work. It should stop your current hair loss and hopefully regrow some of what you lost. You need a prescription from a doctor to get it. If I had more money I would also start using topical minoxidil. You can get a generic version of it for about $10 a month. This is just my recommendation, but I encourage you to speak with your doctor before starting any treatment.
Hope that helps. Thank you for writing,

Vitamins good for hair health and hair loss
Alice asks: are there any supplements on the market that help with hair health and hair loss?
Dear Alice,
There are a number of supplements that people take for hair loss and hair health. You can actually go to a health food store and get vitamins that are formulated for hair care. Me personally, I take Biotin, B complex, and saw palmetto. The biotin and B complex are good for hair health and the saw palmetto helps with the DHT inhibiting. I don't think females can take saw palmetto though. But I think a multi vitamin specifically formulated for hair from a health food store would be a great pick also.
